March 23, 2015
waking up on Sunday morning and realized it was 26 degrees. Yes it was so wonderful not wandering around to go church with the thick coat on. it's nice to wear the loose trousers with sneakers and leather jacket + so comfy :D
Me and a friend of mine did our snaps just beside the huge park in front of the church. And we were posing to take the #ootd shots but .... it was not as we expected . hahaha
but practices make perfect, no ?
I also managed to buy an ice cream crepe from the mall near the church and it was soo delicious + refreshing :)

In the last 2 weeks, I've been going to Laowaijie having lunch with classmates. it's located in Hongmei Lu, Shanghai .
first we tried the Big Bamboo Sports Bar. they have a set lunch for 75 RMB including salad, main dish, and a drink. I chose Caesar Salad, Chili Cheese Burgers, and orange juice.the salad was quite a big portion,  the burger was delicious and spicy because of the chili, but I love it. even though it was a big portion and with fries, so I was kind skip my dinner because i was definetely full.

And the next restaurant we tried was CityBull. a Canadian-styled restaurant and bar with a set menu lunch of 78 RMB for coffee / tea , all kind of burgers/pasta/sandwiches, and ice cream !! for the addition, we tried Poutine, potato with gravy and cheese on top. my friends who've been living there told us that it was so good, so we shared the Poutine for 5 person (75RMB). when it arrived and we directly tucked into the Poutine, friend of mine said that it should be more gravy and cheese on top! but, well it wasn't so bad either.. (really hope it has more gravy though) Next the burger arrived , I ate it and love the bun so much !! because it reminds me of my mom's homemade burger, as she always kind of toast the bread first so it's kind of crispy and greasy (yummmmmm). overall , it taste amazing and of course because it had bacon and cheese :D.
vanilla ice cream was my choice while the others were ordering either chocolate or strawberry... yes I ate it like a flash haha because I love dessert especially ice cream <3

22nd February - The last full day spent with Mom before she leave

March 21, 2015
22nd February was the last full day I could spend with my mom before she went back tomorrow morning , it felt like it was just yesterday that she arrived and I picked her up form the airport. My mom was so excited to go to the church that I go regularly every Sunday located in Xujiahui. A little history lesson about the church – It was designed by an English architect William Doyle and built by the French Jesuits from 1905-1910 (5 years in process and now its almost 1 century). Saint Ignatius Cathedral was described as ‘the grandest cathedral in the Far East. An artist named Wo Ye of Beijing and Fr. Thomas Lucas SJ from the University of San Fransisco began a 5-year project to install new stained glass windows in 2002, which is now appears with the Chinese characters and iconography. At 1.15, hunger was creeping inside of us, and I took mom to on eof my favorite place for the after-church-late-lunch. It was in Metro City and near the church so its very reachable and there are lots of choices too. Udon was our choice, mom took the Spicy Kimchi one, (even she don’t really like spicy food) with fried chicken snacks, and I took the curry one with chicken snacks. We loved the chicken snacks so much, (FYI, I always pick the chicken snacks no matter what happen) and the curry was amazing. The udon was so soft and chewy, loved them with the savory curry flavor. (no pictures available for this coz we were to hungry to wait and snap) haha, but I will provide some picts next time I go there.
We love chocolate, I mean, who doesn’t ? I could not believe my life without chocolate. Yes we went to Hershey shop there and bought 20 big cups of Reese, for my bros and of course, ME… ☺ . On our way to the metro station, my mom’s was fascinated by the pinky and girly Hello Kitty café, I really wanted to go there with her but it was so crowded and seemed like everyone on that particular time went there at the same time. Even though we waited like 20 min max, so we gave up and maybe next time :’), but there is always a plan B, yes we found a mocha ice cream just in front of the café and we tried them, the greentea and red bean one (obviously I voted the greentea one). Somehow, my mom loved the greentea mocha better than the one she picked. Haha yes greentea rules! We continued walking as I grabbed my mom to try Lilian Bakery’s cheese tart and egg tart, as people said it’s the best place for egg tart. We bought 4, 2 pcs each and she loves it so muchhh, loved it over the cheese one though, but I was the opposite. I love I adore I fancy cheese tart, making me finish the cheese tart (yes that’s what I am hoping for ;).
After a long brainstorming where should we go, we decided to go to Carefour. Why? Because mom want to buy any kind of snacks that is made in China and bring it back home, as I also recommended that idea coz sounds like a great one. On the way to Carefour, I saw the café that I’ve been dying to go there but I don’t know when was the right time, and it seemed like a perfect time, MangoSix, like the one we saw on the Heirs, Korean drama. I ordered their favorite drinks, Mango & Coconut while mom ordered Mango sorbet ice cream. It was so mango, and goes well with the coconut and one’s not enough for me, and I kind of finished my mom’s dessert :p.  After satisfied my desires for almost 5 months, we went to Carefour and picking, selecting anything that seems delicious and trusted. It was about 1-2 hours shopping time and we went home by taxi even its only for about 1 km, coz it was impossible for us to carry all the stuffs without something left behind. The journey didn’t end there, as my mom I a fan of collecting mug from every countries.
We went to a mall near the metro station and unfortunately we didn’t find the kind of mug that my mom was looking for. So I had an idea to go to L’Avenue, to find Starbucks and we did! Surprisingly, my mom bought 2 cause the other one was in 3D and the picture of the bund. So they’re kind of worth it.
I took my mom to my other favorite restaurant, near Starbucks, called Juchheim, it served great pasta and potato dishes. But sadly, the cooks didn’t do order after 8, and it was 8.12. (yes, shoot). So, we were kind of disappointed, but luckily we bought salmon yesterday in IKEA. At the apartment, my mom cooked the salmon and it was delish. It is true that the most delicious dish is the one that your mom cook for you ☺

Myriad people won't stop us from having fun

March 4, 2015

First thing to do was dressing my mom so that she could go out peacefully. By peacefully meaning = warm enough to fight the unpredictable wind and temperature. Going to Yu Yuan Garden was our mission from the first place, but knowing that the place would be full with enormous people, 2nd day of CNY would be much more comfortable for us. But unfortunately, there still myriad people around the venue and I believed it would’ve been inevitably crowded for the rest of the day.  We managed to go in and apparently got stuck without a chance of getting out immediately, since lots and lots of people trying to get in from the direction in which we got in, but thankfully the police officers and team made them into one-way in and out. After we stopped by into some of the souvenir shops, we decided to eat ice cream! Yes despite the fact that it was super cold, we still need ice cream somehow instead of dumpling soups. Anyway, after had our break, we spotted this super cute baby with the pinky cheeks. OMG I was startled in a joy way, plus I couldn’t stop starring and smiling with him. And his granpa was very cooperative that I wanted to take video of him <3. I just wish I could take him with me haha. Without waiting for another minute, we took the queue to enter Yu Garden, which was a tiring queue, but that didn’t stop us from standing in line. At the place, we had no idea about the venue although there was some kind of direction to each “temple”, or shop, or some fountains. The most interesting thing to do was just walk wherever we feel like walking, it wouldn’t bring us to a completely different place though. Aside from the fact that it was raining, and both of our phones were dying, we took a really good care by just using them for taking photos, period. When the time was enough according to us for taking photos, we decided to move and find some place to eat. With the fact that it was raining, eating wonton noodle would be a perfect choice for us after a long tiring day. So we headed to Henderson Metropolitan at Nanjiing Dong Lu. Somehow, our next destination was IKEA, either I wanted my mom to feel how does it like in IKEA or I want to eat there and shop some appliances :p. Don’t judge, but apparently we ate “again”, seems the noodle weren’t enough. I am really in love with the matcha red bean cheesecake by IKEA, and it was my first time trying the meatball, which I love especially the jam. After filling our tummy again, we bought some aromatic candles, spice jar, wine glass, napkin, and a cute panda doll, which every purchase of the doll and 1 euro will be donated to the NGO ☺. Then we stopped by to the market where they sell food, and we bought the chocolates and frozen salmon (my mom promised cooking for me).  Not feeling satisfied, we ate another ice cream as the dessert and our fuel to go home, even though we went by taxi :D,, but it was a lovely day with my mom, ignoring the fact that my feet hurts like heaven :’)
